Level 3 Advanced Photography Workshop in Scotland
Refine your vision. Strengthen your choices. Make more personal images.
A calm, practical advanced photography workshop for photographers who already understand their camera and want to refine the way they work in the field.
If you can already make technically competent images but want stronger creative direction, more personal compositions or a clearer sense of what to leave out, Level 3 is designed to slow the process down and go deeper.
You’ll work at a relaxed pace, with one-to-one or small-group guidance shaped around your experience, visual style and the kind of images you want to make with more intention.
Who This Workshop Is For
This workshop is for experienced photographers who already understand their camera and want to refine the creative decisions behind their images.
You may be confident with exposure, focus and composition, but want to go deeper into atmosphere, restraint, personal style, subject choice, visual rhythm and how to make images that feel more intentional.
Level 3 is less about learning basic settings and more about developing a stronger way of seeing.
-
You know your camera
You are already comfortable with your camera settings and can usually manage exposure, focus and depth of field in the field.
The focus now is on using those tools with more purpose, subtlety and creative control.
-
You want deeper refinement
We’ll look closely at composition, visual balance, timing, restraint, atmosphere and how small decisions can change the strength of an image.
The aim is to refine your process rather than add more complexity.
-
You want more personal images
Level 3 is ideal if you want your images to feel less generic and more connected to the way you see.
We’ll focus on intention, mood, subject choice, editing in the field and developing a more personal response to the landscape.
Choose Where You Want to Improve
Level 3 workshops can be shaped around the kind of work you want to refine. Choose woodland, coastal and seascape, landscape, or a mixture of subjects as part of a bespoke advanced day.
-

Woodland Photography
Work more deeply with atmosphere, visual rhythm, restraint, separation, texture, subtle light, complex scenes and more personal woodland compositions.
-

Coastal & Seascape Photography
Refine your seascape work through stronger timing, mood, water movement, composition, restraint, abstract shoreline details and more intentional coastal images.
-

Landscape Photography
Develop more personal landscape images through atmosphere, visual balance, intimate details, field craft, timing, light, restraint and creative direction.
What We’ll Cover
The day is shaped around your experience and creative goals, but most Level 3 workshops focus on refinement, intention and making stronger decisions in the field.

Understanding what your images are really about
