Award-winning Scottish landscape photographer based in Angus.
Every workshop is led personally by Duncan. His teaching style is relaxed, straightforward and low-pressure, with small groups and time for questions, individual guidance and working through ideas in the field.
Rather than rushing between locations or following a fixed formula, Duncan gives photographers time to understand what they are seeing, why a composition works and how camera choices affect the final image.
His work has been recognised by the World Nature Photography Awards and Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year.

Before You Book

Send a workshop enquiry with your preferred dates, experience level, number of people and what you would most like to photograph. I’ll reply personally and confirm the most suitable workshop, location and next step.

Poor weather does not necessarily mean poor photography. The location or plan can often be adjusted to suit the conditions. If the weather becomes unsafe or genuinely unsuitable, we can discuss rearranging.

Bring your camera, charged batteries, memory cards and suitable outdoor clothing. A tripod is useful for many landscape, woodland and coastal workshops. If you are unsure what to bring, I’ll advise you beforehand.

Workshop locations can be chosen around your fitness, mobility and comfort level. Some involve only short walks, while others include more time on uneven ground. Let me know about any access concerns when you enquire.

Travel between agreed photography locations during the workshop day can be included from our meeting point where arranged in advance. Meeting points and travel details will be confirmed before the workshop.

Yes. Workshops can be arranged for couples and small groups of up to four people, and multi-day bookings are also available. Send an enquiry with what you have in mind and I’ll confirm the options.
