I'm Duncan, an award-winning Scottish landscape photographer based in Angus, drawn especially to woodland, changing light and the quieter details of nature.
I lead one-to-one and small-group photography workshops and private tours across Scotland. The way I teach is calm and unhurried, giving you time to slow down, ask questions, explore ideas and enjoy being in the landscape. Whether you're just starting out or looking to develop your eye further, I shape the day around your experience, interests and way of seeing.

Every workshop and private tour is led personally by me. I enjoy sharing what I notice in the landscape and hearing how other photographers see it. Sometimes that means demonstrating a technique, discussing a composition or trying a different approach together. Just as importantly, there's room for you to explore your own ideas.
My work was awarded Gold in the Plants and Fungi category at the 2026 World Nature Photography Awards and won the Autumn category of the 2024 Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year competition.

Before the Turning
Ancient Scots pine branches reach across a quiet Scottish woodland, framing a soft carpet of ferns below. I was drawn to the character of the old pines and the layers of green running through the forest, creating a calm and immersive woodland scene.
Before the Turning is available as a fine art photographic print in a range of sizes, professionally printed in Scotland using carefully selected fine art paper.
Late summer settles quietly over a Scots pine woodland, with sweeping branches framing a dense carpet of ferns below. I was drawn to the richness of the greens and the character of the old pines at that brief point in the year before the woodland begins its turn towards autumn.
Before the Turning is available as a fine art photographic print in a range of sizes, with larger sizes offered as limited editions.
