Current & Upcoming Signature Workshops
Curated, location-led photography experiences across Scotland.
Signature Workshops sit apart from a standard tuition day. Each one is shaped around a specific place, season or subject, with more thought given to timing, light, conditions, pace and the kind of images that location encourages.
The aim is not to rush through a list of viewpoints. It is to spend time in places with real photographic depth, working more carefully with composition, atmosphere, texture, colour and personal response.

What Makes a Signature Workshop Different
A Signature Workshop is built around more than a date in the diary. It is shaped by the qualities that make a place worth photographing in the first place: location, season, light, atmosphere, pace and subject.
-
Location-Led
Each workshop is built around a specific place or route with real photographic depth, rather than a generic day that could happen anywhere.
-
Shaped Around Conditions
Season, weather, light, tide times where relevant, colour and conditions all shape the plan, depending on the location and subject.
-
Small and Personal
Available as private one-to-one sessions or small groups, so there is space for individual guidance and a calmer pace in the field.
-
More Considered
The aim is not to rush through viewpoints. It is to slow down, work carefully and make images that feel more personal and connected to place.
Led by Duncan Wood
Multi-award-winning Scottish landscape photographer based in Angus.
I lead these Signature Workshops with a calm, practical and place-led approach to one-to-one and small-group tuition.
The aim is to help photographers slow down, make clearer decisions and respond more personally to the landscape in front of them.
These workshops are built around places I know, return to and photograph myself, from ancient woodland and loch edges to coastal cliffs, seascapes, seasonal colour and quieter landscape details.
Recognition includes a 2026 World Nature Photography Awards category win and a 2024 Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year category win.

Pricing depends on the location, group size, travel, dates and whether the workshop is arranged as a single-day or multi-day experience.
-
One-to-One Workshops
Private full-day Signature Workshops usually start from £395, depending on the location and structure of the day.

Small Groups
Small-group prices are available for two, three or four people, with each day kept personal, calm and practical.

Multi-Day Options
Multi-day Signature Workshops can be arranged by enquiry, with pricing shaped around location, travel and the number of days.
